A post-graduate in fine art from the Delhi College of Arts, Sarnjit’s paintings epitomise his inner sensitivity and spirituality. A celebrated artist, who’s been perfecting his art for over three decades, he delves deep into his subjects, often studying them for years before attempting to capture them on his canvas. His series of portraits of Guru Gobind Singh were a culmination of a seven year study of the Sikh scriptures and the writings of the 10th Sikh Guru. His subjects, and the medium he uses to paint, vary widely – from exploring the sensuality of women and Hindu mythology to vignettes of daily life from pages of history, exuding a sense of the mystical. With several group and solo shows to his credit, Sarnjit’s paintings are the proud possessions of many private and public collectors across the globe.
